⌖ A lot of people have requested I take a look at games like Aion, TERA, Blade & Soul and others again during 2019 to see how they compare to when I last played them all, which was around.. a year ago.
I'm sure you know how quickly games can change. Look at Bless Online. Over the course of the last year it went from a buy to play MMO with over 30,000 concurrent players to a free to play MMO that has a concurrent playerbase of 400.
I've pretty much only ever played the North American Aion published by NCSoft, honestly, as I was always under the impression that the game had a much more active population than the European version did.
Maybe that was true, maybe it wasn't, but as of 2019 that is definitely not the case.
Both the European TERA and the European Aion have significantly higher populations than their North American counterparts.
That could be, of course, because the cumulative total of players in Europe vastly surpasses North America, or it could be that they prefer different games. Who knows.
Regardless, from everyone I've asked, and everything I've seen, the level 1 to 60 experience in Aion EU is much more populated.
Naturally, being told this I opted to download and begin playing the European Aion even with the latency issues from North America.
