Tip #3 for successfully selling your home in the current market… it’s an obvious tip but I have some not-so-obvious reasons as to why this matters and how to go about this one.

This tip is find a phenomenal local REALTOR® expert!

Here are the
1️⃣ Look at reviews: you’re looking at number of reviews as well as quality of reviews. Are they just 5 star reviews or do they have details in them? Also, do you see a common theme of any quality (or qualities) that this REALTOR® may have?

2️⃣ Find out how many sales this REALTOR® has had.

Number of sales doesn’t tell everything about the quality of the REALTOR®, but it does give a flavor of how much experience they’ve had, which often equates to wisdom from knowing how to navigate the nuanced process of a home sale.

3️⃣ Pay attention to how active they are on social media. Are they putting out content of VALUE? This doesn’t mean hammering you with real estate all the time, but making sure you’re not just seeing “just listed” or “just sold” posts all the time.

The reason for this - putting out valuable content (especially in the form of videos) indicates that the REALTOR® is actively involved in the market, and also has mastered educating others on the market, which means they likely have a very good grasp about how to advise you well.

A couple of bonus tips that are not so obvious and really make a difference: 👇👇
4️⃣ Ask other REALTORS® about the reputation of the REALTOR® you’re interviewing.

I go more into depth about this on the video, but let me be clear: REALTORS® (and not just real estate agents) are bound by a code of ethics. We cannot (and should not) say disparaging things about others.

However, you can ask what it’s like working with that REALTOR®… are they even keel when shit hits the fan, or do they lose their cool really easily? Sometimes this helps you to learn things you would’ve otherwise never known. If that REALTOR® has a certain reputation in the community, that means that’s how you’re being represented, and it can seriously hurt you.

5️⃣ Ask this REALTOR® about their thoughts on personal growth.

Everyone has different ideas of what that looks like, and who they follow, but it should be an absolute MUST to do personal growth things of some sort.

Real estate is a relationship-based industry, meaning much of our work occurs because of relationships. If the REALTOR® you’re considering working with isn’t interested in any personal growth of any sort, it may indicate that they are not interested in bettering themselves which can impact their ability to serve you best in your relationship.
