THE ‘Plexi’ Amplifier Shootout: Marshall 1959HW, Suhr SL68 & Friedman BE-100 Deluxe

Описание к видео THE ‘Plexi’ Amplifier Shootout: Marshall 1959HW, Suhr SL68 & Friedman BE-100 Deluxe

There is a lot of legend and talk that surrounds the old 'plexi' style amplifiers of the late 60s and early 70s, helped in part by players such as Jimi Hendrix, Angus Young and Eddie Van Halen... not a bad list of players at all...

The most famous of these amps was the Marshall 1959 Super Lead, as seen and heard all over the world. In this video, Jack takes an outstanding Marshall Handwired 1959 through its paces, much like the players mentioned above would have done.

We also pulled out two amps which stack up very well against the Marshall; the Suhr SL68 and the Friedman BE-100 Deluxe. All three of these amps have their own characteristics, however you would be forgiven in thinking they might only suit just one style of playing. That’s where we came in...

Jack went into the finer details and tones of all three of these amps to show you what a 100 watt plexi style amp can really do. They're far more versatile then you might have thought! Paired with a Fryette Power Station PS-100 Dual Mode Reactance Amplifier, we show you the huge range of tones you can get from these monster amps!
