This question is a timely question to ask. Around the world there is a roll out of a medical intervention being prepared. The stated goal is that all citizens will be treated with this medication. There is a significant ethical and medical discussion that we should be having around the world - who is ultimately in charge of our body. I believe that there are 2 key questions, one is a health question and the other is a freedom question.
The health question is one of paradigm. Can the body be healthy without medical intervention? It might be that the body can maintain itself without external intervention. If we take this view then it is unnecessary to mandate a medical intervention that is based on the view that the body cannot effectively protect itself.
The freedom question is another one. It is more ethical or political. At what point do we give our right of choice to the government. If the intervention/medication is not fully tested should any government power be able to mandate its use.
