LIVE COURT | UT v Kouri Richins Preliminary Hearing Day 1

Kouri Richins is accused of murder for the death of her husband Eric Richins. She was arrested over a year after his death and after she wrote a children's book about grief. Her communications from jail, the 'walk the dog letter', and her Google searches, 'luxury prisons for rich people,' are just a part of what has kept this case in the headlines. A preliminary hearing is a process to determine if there is enough evidence to hold someone over for trial. There is no jury present and the judge is the finder of fact. This will be a 2-3 day hearing.
