Is your child coming out of the bathroom without pooping, despite your best efforts? Have you spent hours reading books, playing music, or offering incentives, only to see no results?

The two most common reasons for this are timing and distractions.

💡 Timing: The best time to encourage pooping is 20–30 minutes after a meal. This is when the bowels are naturally active, thanks to the gastrocolic reflex, which makes room for new food.

💡 Distractions: Too much time on the toilet, paired with distractions like iPhones, iPads, books, or even an audience, can make things worse. Stick to a 10-minute rule: poop or get off the toilet.
