Recording of loading a pagedbase over the internet using vsgviewer with the new libcurl support added to vsgXchange, using a previously populated local file cache.


Populating the file cache was done simply by running vsgviewer with the same command line parameters, the first time to download the data and populate the cache, then a second run recording in this video where tiles previously placed in the local file cache are read instead of the https versions. Any tiles not already placed in the file cache will be downloaded on demand.

The sequence is simply:

loaded up and move over terrain downloading data and populating file cache
vsgviewer https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rob... --file-cache ~/MyFileCache

second run (this recorded one) is able to pull tiles from the populated file cache
vsgviewer https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rob... --file-cache ~/MyFileCache
