Notes:
- As I said in the previous videos, this is part of a series of videos I'm doing. Paying tribute to GT's forgotten race cars.
- With that said, if the car you wanted to see isn't here, that just means it'll appear later on. I have a system in place guys, they'll eventually all be shown.
- Gran Turismo 2 is going to be more installments than GT1 for sure, there were just so many cars PD put into this game and never licensed & modeled again for various reasons.
- That factor about GT2 is part of why it's my favorite GT, it has content that's kinda a rarity in the series.
- When talking about the Toyota Altezza LM Edition, I goofed and forgot to mention the Lexus IS200 GT-1 Race Car featured in the Korean release of Gran Turismo 4 & onwards. Sorry, I guess I forgot when I was already focusing a bit too long on the Altezza.
- On the Arta Zexel GT-R, since Gran Turismo 7 confirmed both the 1999 Pennzoil Nismo GT-R and the livery editor staying (with improvements to boot), we can actually sort-of bring this car back ourselves. :D
- I do find not including the Super Tourers from the 90s in later GTs to be a bit of a missed opportunity as that series had great popularity. Even if I never watched it myself, the fact they're race cars the resemble normal sedans feels very Gran Turismo. GT has always been a mix of the normal kind of cars and the extraordinary. That's why you'll see in GT6 for instance a Daihatsu Mira in the car list along with a Ferrari Enzo in another spot.
- To expand on what I said in this video and in the last, I don't think the purge of cars for moving to the PS2 generation is the main cause for any of these cars not being used again in GT. I say this because Gran Turismo 3 was the first GT on the PS2, where PD had to of course start all over again with car modelling since they wanted to get more detail out of their cars on the new system. The purge of cars was always going to happen.
- Continuing on that point above, Gran Turismo 4 then of course came out years later after PD got their bearings and had more time to model and license more cars into this game. Based on that, they had a great opportunity to bring these cars back, but choose not too. Which is why I assumed they wanted to just focus on either more successful cars or newer race cars in general.
