Does your car make a humming sound after shutdown? Maybe something like a cow moo-ing? You probably need to change out one or both of your wastegate solenoids (also called boost solenoid).

This is detailed how-to covers everything you need to know about replacing wastegate solenoids on your LF3 and LF4 engines. The wastegate solenoids often start making noise and eventually may cause erratic boost levels. This is because the solenoid helps the cars ECU control the wastegate position which in turn determines boost output from the turbos compressor.

The parts are a little different between LF3 and LF4. Buy from your favorite gm parts dealer or RockAuto.com.

Wondering about my custom intake? It's all off the shelf parts, but the airbox I made myself from sheet metal. Almost anyone can make this intake, but the airbox is the tough part. ZZP now makes an intake for the VSport and it may be of better quality and for the right price.
