TRS leader and KCR's son K T Rama Rao said that there had never been any deal with the Congress to begin with and that the decision not to merge with Congress had been arrived at after having consulted the party cadre, a majority of which had evinced a desire to stay as an entity. He also said that Congress, never had, at any stage of formulating the Telangana bill or even during the passage of the same, taken the TRS into confidence.
