Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a 2016 first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, marking the 13th main entry in the long-running Call of Duty franchise.
Set in a futuristic, sci-fi universe, Infinite Warfare takes the series beyond Earth and into the wider Solar System, where humanity’s colonies are under threat. Players step into the boots of Captain Nick “Reck” Reyes, a Special Operations pilot who rises to command UNSA’s last surviving warship, the Retribution, in a desperate campaign against the fanatical Settlement Defense Front (SDF). The narrative blends classic on-foot warfare with space and zero-gravity combat, including dogfights piloting advanced fighters like the Jackal.
The game includes three distinct modes:
Campaign: A story-driven single-player experience that sends players from Earth to distant worlds as they battle to protect humanity and lead the UNSA fleet.
Multiplayer: Fast-paced competitive play with momentum-based movement, deep weapon and Suit (“Combat Rig”) customization, and tactical map design.
Zombies in Spaceland: A cooperative mode where players fight undead hordes in a vibrant 1980s amusement park filled with rides, arcade games, and unique team mechanics.
Despite an initially mixed reaction due to its futuristic setting, Infinite Warfare earned praise for its ambitious campaign, innovative gameplay features across modes, and robust content offering, including remastered editions bundled with Modern Warfare Remastered in special releases.
