What saddens me the most is the way we are flushing our value systems down the drain. When I moved back to Bangalore from San Francisco, I had big hopes too. East is the new west, 9-10% growth in GDP and what not.

Everybody thinks India is now liberalized. I was disappointed and wondered what got literally “liberalized”; the way it is now, it is the soul of this country and it is unfortunately moving away from us. Liberalization is an eidolon postulated by people who had no better ideas. Unfortunately, there is no one to guard and the soul of this country has become a bitch. I am not sure if continuing with so called liberalization like the way it is now is such a good idea after all. The soul of India could ultimately get lost as we grow with the economic liberalization. Many of us have sold our souls for a bedmate, who appears to be a witch. The soul is leaving our country Sid, the country will soon become a dead meat. It would get rotten any time.

I am a living example of many conflicts that goes on in the minds of many in India. While I do like women empowerment, I don’t like ‘slut walks’ that are happening in many cities in India. I am scared in my own sacred country to raise my daughter after hearing an incident of 11 year olds having sex at school. While I try the act of enjoying a sip of Cappuccino at Café Coffee Day, I still crave for Kamath’s filter coffee. While my daughter goes to the summer camp during her summer break, I wish she should spend that time with her grandparents. I enjoy driving new cars around the country, but I hate the roads. The heart is split between modern nicety and ancient beauty. Can’t we have both? Can’t we have a better cocktail? The current one we are sipping really sucks. It has gotten us to act in a weird way.
