Colby Alexander was under American record pace halfway through the men's mile at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix and went with the pacer looking for a personal best. Eventually, he was caught by Ireland's Andrew Coscoran, who won in 3:53.64. Alexander finished second in 3:53.21 a week after his 3:52 for third place at the Millrose Games. After the race, he told us he's embracing a bit of that cult hero status as the people's champion while unsponsored.
