1958: Run Run Shaw arrives in Hong Kong with a vision—build the Hollywood of the East. He creates MOVIETOWN, the largest film studio in Asia, produces 1,000+ films, and dominates Asian cinema with legendary kung fu movies and wuxia classics.

Stars like Ti Lung, David Chiang, Cheng Pei-pei, Jimmy Wang Yu, and Alexander Fu Sheng become household names. Films like One-Armed Swordsman, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, and Five Deadly Venoms define martial arts cinema.

But Run Run Shaw's iron-fist control creates cracks in the empire. Stars are paid poverty wages. Creativity is crushed. And his own Production Chief, Raymond Chow, watches it all.

1970: Raymond Chow makes a decision that will change cinema history—he QUITS Shaw Brothers.
