IN-DEPTH Guide to Hiking Mt Halifax - PALUMA RANGE NATIONAL PARK | Tropical FNQ

Описание к видео IN-DEPTH Guide to Hiking Mt Halifax - PALUMA RANGE NATIONAL PARK | Tropical FNQ

Welcome back to another video! This is am in-depth guide to hiking Mt Halifax in far north Queensland. This is a challenging walk located at Rollingstone about 45min north of Townsville. The walk is about 10km return and varies from 4-8 hours return depending on fitness. This is easily one my favourite walks as it offers lush rainforest, spectacular views and a real sense of achievement when you get to the top! These do come at a price though so don't be fooled into thinking this is an easy walk. The walk itself is very steep and make sure to come prepared for leaches and snakes as well. There is running water in the creeks year round most years but be sure to take plenty of water just incase. There are three campsites on the way up to the top of Mt Halifax and there is one just over the other side of the top (this is by far the best one) so if you would like to camp along the way or up the top you may do so. Just make sure you book through Queensland National Parks.

If you are feeling extra fit or you've camped up the top, the path continues on to Godwin's Peak which offers incredible 360 degree views. Be sure to check out my next video for a guide to hiking Godwin's Peak!
