South Hill Washington- A 30 year old man wanted on a felony Child Assault Warrant was shot and killed by Pierce County deputy Sheriff Officers today near the corner of 162nd and Meridian in South Hill. According to Pierce County Sheriff Spokesperson Ed Troyer, Several calls were placed by citizens to 911 about a man driving eratically at speeds up to 80 miles per hour. Deputies quickly caught up to him and attempted a traffic stop but the suspect decided to lead deputies on a high speed pursuit. The suspect vehicle, a gold Ford explorer was temporarily stopped using a P.I.T Manuver but the suspect came out of the spin and tried to ram deputies successfully T boning one Sheriffs Cruiser. At least three deputies then opened fire striking the suspect and killing him. Paramedics responded to the scene but were unable to revive the suspect. He was declared dead at the scene. The investigation is still on going as to what started the suspect driving so eratically and then leading deputies on a prusuit.
