Smt. Sugandha Kalamegham has been a much sought after performer in Carnatic music for over a decade. She began her training at the age of 13, under Shri Kadayam Krishnamurthy and Shri Gopala Iyer. She continued to learn from the erudite gurus Vidwan Sri Sandhyavandhanam Srinivasa Rao and Sangeetha Kalanidhi TK Govinda Rao (of the Musiri Subramania Iyer bani) and the veena maestro Trivandrum Venkataraman. She has also formally learned Hindustani classical at the world renowned Gandharva Maha Vidhyalaya in New Delhi.Smt. Kalamegham's singing is clearly acknowledged by both musicians and music lovers for its classicism and its adherence to the Carnatic tradition. Her voice is marked by its depth and she is known for her strict sruti alignment. With her methodical planning before every single concert, she always strikes the right balance between technical perfection and melodic beauty. Smt. Kalamegham is an A-grade artiste at All India Radio and has performed extensively on the National Program of Music in AIR and Doordarshan. She was a member of the Cultural Committee of the 12th Planning Commission, Government of India (2001-02), and appointed to the Senate of the Music Department of Annamalai University in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu.

Oh eternal Akshayaliga, you are self-originated. You are the lord of countless living beings. Oh Siva, please protect.

You are embodiment of eternity. Your valor is limitless. Sacred bull is your mount. Your beauty is fascinatng. You punished Daksha and preached Devatas the aims and objectives of philosophic truths. You enjoy nectar.You shower benign glances on devotees.

Oh Siva, you reside in Badari forest with your consort. You are the lord of Bhadrakali. Maha Vishnu the father of Manmadha extoles of your power. You are devoid of illusory acts. You are kind father of Guru Guha. You are above human frailities. Pious people are with you. Oh Sankara, your heart is soft like butter. Tumburu's music is pleasing to your heart. You evolved out of primordial sound 'hreemkara'. You are lord of Kailasa. You fulfill wishes of devotees like celestial 'Kalpaka' tree.You possess an army consisting chariots,elephants, horses and infantry. Chaitra festival in spring season is splendid.
