The Lesser Butterfly Orchid is a delicate and beautiful plant that grows in a wide range of places, from bogs to grassland, and even into woodland. However, in the last 50 years, this sweet-smelling plant has declined by more than half.

Our Lesser Butterfly Orchid project, led by Plantlife, has been working to reduce the decline. By finding out more about these sweet-smelling plants we've been able to inform other site managers so they too can work to ensure this species is brought back from the brink.
