Here we have a 4 hectare paddock with 1.4 km of beds prepared for tree planting.

3 days slashing & raking is all that it has taken.
Yes 2 x 1.5 tractor/man days.

No ground disturbance, just mulched beds.

The penetrometer tells us that we've restored life, fertility, & water in the soil under these mulch lines.

Now these beds have a nice plump & juicy mulch cover & are ready for planting in May, August, September, October when we have students on farm camp.

No fertility inputs either!

Trees will be spaced at 1 metre apart so as to trigger early communication under ground between trees in this new forest.
