In this week's episode we turn our sights on the first film to feature the character of Hannibal Lecter, spelled "Lecktor" for this film solely. This is based the book by Thomas Harris entitled Red Dragon but changed for this film due to pressures from executives and studio. We find Will Graham, a retired FBI criminal profiler, being tapped by his former bass Jack Crawford to help find the "Tooth Fairy" serial killer. The "Tooth Fairy" has killed 2 families for a total of 11 people thus far and seems to strike on a lunar pattern. Meaning they have roughly 4 weeks to stop him from killing again. Not sure how to get back in the mindset of killers again after his last case ended rather disastrous for him, Graham decides to visit the person that forced him to retire and the one that scarred him both physically and mentally, Dr. Hannibal Lecktor. Lecktor was put away by Graham 3 years prior, agrees to help Graham but on conditions. However, it seems the "Tooth Fairy" has been in correspondence with Lecktor and Lecktor even gave the "Tooth Fairy" Graham's home address in hopes he would kill Graham. Needless to say, this is a cat and mouse game that ends poorly for some of these characters. But what do we think of the first on screen portrayal of Hannibal Lecter? well you will just have to watch and find out!
