In Finnish mythology, the northern lights were created, when a running fire fox touched snow or branches with its tail, creating sparks that rose into the sky. Catching a fire fox was a hunter's dream, as it would have brought riches and fame. In Finnish, the northern lights (revontulet) literally means fox fires.

This illustration was inspired by this story and my personal love for the northern lights and foxes 🦊💚

Yeah, watch me struggling with this piece quite a lot (and ugly sketch phase included) ^^' I had some bad drawing days but I kind of pushed it through. Also, did a lot of testing and playing with layer styles etc. Hope you like it anyway.
