Autumn is here and so are autumn leaves so why not put these leaves to good use and make some Leaf rubbing Art. This is a bit different to your usual wax crayon rubbings, this time we are going to use tin foil and paint to create an embossed effect.

For this project, the only bit of prep required is cutting the rectangle or square piece of cardboard for each child (3 per child). This lesson takes approximately 1 lesson to complete with the children, drying time for the paint (if applied at the correct thickness) is approximately 20-25 mins. This is a great activity to talk about different types of leaves, different sizes and colours as you can talk about these as you collect the leaves. From an art perspective, this is a good activity to talk about textures and embossing. This lesson is aimed at 7-11 year olds.

You will need:
-Fresh Autumn leaves
-Tin foil
-Cardboard
-Pritt stick
-Paper towels
-Black paint (wither acrylic or poster paint)
-Paint brush
