NATE Unveils Tower Inspection Safety Video

(Dallas, Texas) – The National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE) today released a Tower Inspection Safety Video as part of the Association’s 2016 Climber Connection campaign. The Association unveiled the video at the 2016 Wireless Infrastructure Show in Dallas, Texas.

The video highlights practical safety tips for industry workers to follow when performing tower inspections. The video includes both ground-based and aerial footage of tower climbers performing detailed inspections covering areas such as general tower-site conditions, tower base and foundations, safety climbs, feed lines, structural members, bolts, transmission lines, antenna mounts and anchor points.

“Tower inspections are a vital part of maintaining safe working conditions, said MJ Scott from Texoma Contracting, Inc. in Muskogee, Oklahoma. “Inspections not only ensure the safety of tower crews, but carriers and owners as well. With all of the modifications being performed recently, several aspects of each structure may be changed. Greater frequency of inspections will benefit everyone involved,” added Scott.

The Climber Connection campaign was developed by the NATE Member Services Committee in conjunction with the NATE Safety & Education Committee and is designed to provide specific resources and communicate the Association’s message directly to the industry’s elevated workforce. A central element of the campaign is the official release of twelve Climber Connection safety videos; each focused on a unique safety topic or issue involving working at heights.
