How To Make Instant Ice Science Experiment | Simple Science

Описание к видео How To Make Instant Ice Science Experiment | Simple Science

How cool is this instant ice experiment? But let me be honest. This experiment looks simple, but it is not! The idea isn't new, and we wanted to try it for a while because we did not need a lot to make this experiment: just a bottle of water, an ice cube and a freezer. But what they usually fail to mention is that the most crucial ingredient for the project's success is patience!
It took us a few weeks to film this experiment!
Where do I start? Ok. So only clean bottled water from the shop would work. Unfortunately, you can't fill an empty plastic bottle with water if you want to experiment to work.
Then you have to be very precise with the timing. For example, if you do not hold the bottle in the freezer for long enough, the water will not turn into ice when you pour it on top of an ice cube. But then again, a bit too long - and you end up with ice in the bottle.
A piece of advice for those brave enough to take on the challenge, if your water bottle froze once, you cannot defrost it and use it again - the experiment will not work. We made that conclusion after quite a few tries.
When you have done everything right, and you got a perfect almost iced water bottle, you have to be very careful not to shake it or bang it; otherwise, it will turn into ice all of a sudden. If you are pouring water into a glass, make sure the glass is spotlessly clean. A piece of dust could make water start turning into the ice.
That is it! It takes a lot of tries to make it work. I think this is a great experiment for older children who can go through the process of discovery independently. But if you are a parent or a teacher and want to show something cool quickly to children, this experiment has a low success rate of going right at your first try.
Anyway, the experiment looks impressive, and even though it took us a while, I am happy we have tried it.
