3 years ago I was having severe suicidal thoughts. I remember talking to the few friends I had opened up to about my struggles about how I would never make it to 18, I'd be dead before then. Today was my 18th birthday. This is my message to young MJ (drawn in my old artstyle in this video): you made it. I'm so proud of you 💕

.... I mean that's what I WOULD have said if this video was posted on time . but. Better late than never!!! (My birthday was actually on May 27!!) This is easily the most ambitious video I've ever made and I am super super SUPER proud of myself that I got it finished!!! This is a HUGE milestone in my life, and this meme is extremely emotionally significant to me, being one of the things that motivated me to keep going once things started to look up.

I haven't been SUPER open with mental health struggles in the public eye, but now that I'm in a more stable place of mind I'd like to share some experiences in hopes to destigmatize talks about mental health and help somebody in need out there!! I know I'm still just a stranger on the internet, but if sharing a bit of information about a hard time in my life can protect the next struggling kid, adult, ANYONE from ending their life or causing harm to themself, the vulnerability is all worth it to me.

I'll leave this desc with a message so I don't ramble on forever (I tried writing a short desc, yes it's totally working /s): I know if you've struggled at a time in your life with something really hard, you've probably heard it a thousand times: "It gets better". When I was going through this struggle I kinda got tired of hearing it, it felt like a toxic positivity scam to just make me feel better. But if there's anybody a struggling kid should listen to, it's someone who's been in their shoes: it DOES get better, even if you don't believe it. If you're currently struggling and looking for a sign to keep going, THIS is your sign. Do it for me, a silly little guy who loves you and wants to see you not just survive, but LIVE. 💖
