This week's Torah portion of Sh'lach Lecha centers around the incident where 12 spies were sent to check out the Land of Israel as they prepared to enter. Ten of the 12 spies brought back a highly discouraging report to the point where they stated they could not enter the land, for the people there were too strong. In this class we discuss whose idea it was to send the spies, why, and what the motivations of the spies were. There are in fact many different opinions and we explored how to understand what happened and why from many different perspectives.
