Nirmala Sitharaman assures protection of interests of bank employees after privatisation

Speaking about the Union Cabinet’s decision on privatisation of banks in the country, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said not all banks will be privatised and those likely to be privatised will continue to function after the exercise. She said the government will protect the interests of the employees of these banks, and that their salaries or scale or pension will be taken care of.
