Tamim al Barghouti - 'The Bearer-Beings': Portable Stories in Dislocated Times

This Arabic Translation Workshop took place on May 13th 2016.

Envisaged as two linked workshops, 'The Bearer Beings' are translation and creative writing workshops which explore how stories are communicated and transmitted in different cultures, spaces and times. The second workshop will take place in Sicily, and will work closely with refugees to help develop and maintain the stories and literature they carry with them.

The workshops are convened by Marina Warner, Humanitas Visiting Professor of Comparative Literature (2015/16) and President of the British Comparative Literature Association; and Prof. Matthew Reynolds of Oxford Comparative Criticism and Translation.
