To date, 60 TDCJ facilities have received tablets, with the remaining units expected to receive tablets by Spring 2023.

These secure tablets provide a range of content including education, religious and legal material. Inmates can add monitored messaging and phone services, as well as music and select entertainment through subscription plans. Securus Technologies provides the tablets at no cost to the inmates or the state.

The tablet rollout at the Estelle Unit offered a great opportunity for a Q&A session about the tablets.
