Why we almost didn’t buy a Tesla Model Y — and why it ended up being the best choice we could’ve made.
We almost bought another gas SUV. In fact, we were this close to booking a Hyundai Santa Fe test drive. But after stumbling upon a Tesla Model Y listing — and realizing the used EV tax credit made it cheaper than many gas vehicles — everything changed. What started as hesitation turned into a clear choice, and in this video, I’m sharing exactly why.
The two biggest factors that pushed us toward Tesla were the unmatched Supercharger network and the vehicle’s built-in tech. From seamless trip planning in the app to integration between my Tesla account, phone, and car, nothing else we cross-shopped — including the Honda Pilot, Toyota Sienna, Kia Niro EV, and others — came close. Add in Tesla’s mobile charging solution with a removable plug for both 120v and 240v outlets, and we knew we’d always have a charger with us on road trips.
If you’re on the fence about getting a Tesla Model Y or even considering sticking with gas, this video might change your mind.
