Alton Towers is one of the UK's most popular theme parks and dates back many years as both a stately home and an amusement park. The park opened in 1980, owned by businessman John Broome. It was then bought by the Tussauds Group in 1990, and then Merlin Entertainments in 2007 who still own the park to this day. This 45 minute video takes you through the history of the park's rides, attractions, shows and incidents that have occurred over the last 37 years.
