Pros:

1. Affordability:
Moving to Amarillo, Texas means being the median sales price $200,000 below the national median sales price for homes. If you are looking at relocating to Amarillo, Texas, the home prices are very affordable.

2. Activities & Community Events:
One of Amarillo's most enticing features is its various outdoor activities and local community events. Amarillo is positioned 15 to 20 minutes from Palo Duro State Park where there is ample mountain biking, trail running, hiking, climbing, & camping. Amarillo has a revitalized downtown scene and has amazing places like Hodgetown, home of the Amarillo Sod Poodles our local minor league baseball team. There is the local opera, fireworks shows, concerts, the city zoo, botanical gardens, Cadillac Ranch, Old Route 66, home to the Big Texan, & so much more!

Cons:

1. The Weather:
The weather in Amarillo Texas is so very dynamic and can be hard to plan around as it changes so quickly in such a short amount of time. Heat index in the summer can reach 120 degrees Fahrenheit and can go all the way down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit will chill in the winter time. Amarillo Texas, at the time of shooting this video, is the second windiest city in America.

2. Property Taxes:
Living in Amarillo Texas means experiencing unusually high property taxes when compared to most places around the country. For example, most areas in Oregon have a .97% property tax rate as opposed to most areas in Texas being between 1.4% to 1.8% property tax rate.

Pro & Con:

Outdoor activities, because there are so many (definitely a pro) but they can be hindered by the weather (definitely a con).
