Union Pacific 4014 Big Boy Honors Big Sandy, Texas

As a part of the Big Boy Heartland of America Tour 4014 was to make a stop in Big Sandy, Texas for dedication of Train Town USA. After an overnight stop in Texarkana, Arkansas 4014 left on time at 9AM to proceed to Big Sandy but within an hour things went bad as a freight broke down in Mount Pleasant, Texas blocking the mainline for over 3 hours. This caused two other freights ahead of 4014 and 4014 itself to all have to stop as well. Then the crew of the second freight went dead as their 12 hours ran out. There were two employees of Union Pacific among us with radios and apps on phones so we had a good up to date information. Big Boy finally got on the move by 1PM which happens to be the time it was suppose to arrive in Big Sandy! Big Boy got to Big Sandy just before 6PM. What you can't know from the video is that you could feel the heat from the boiler even 25 feet away and your body vibrating from the whistle. It's a monster of a machine.
