We are pleased to announce the launch of the International Partnership on MPAs, Biodiversity, and Climate Change. The United States, United Kingdom, Chile, Costa Rica, and France announce this new global partnership as a resource to advance the role of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) as a nature-based solution in the fight against climate change.

With support from representatives of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the Marine Alliance for Science and Technology for Scotland, we will work with global leaders to ensure they have the information and tools needed to understand the contribution of MPAs, and the biodiversity they protect, as a solution in helping mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change on the global ocean.

Please visit the partnership website www.mpabioclimate.org to find tools and case studies about MPAs, and additional information on webinars presented by each partner country on the role MPAs play in addressing climate change and conserving biodiversity.
