On December 3, 2022, Meta Business Hotel hosted Cardano Summit 2022 Tbilisi. This is already the second summit held in Georgia by Cardano and their special representative Andrew Thornhill, Ambassador of the Cardano Foundation to the country of Georgia.


In contrast with Cardano Summit 2021 Tbilisi’s more relaxed tone, this time was more action-packed: 10 panels united over 30 professionals from public, fintech, and startup spheres to discuss topics such as “Cardano Projects In Georgia”, “Government & Regulations”, “Technology & Advancement”, “Challenges Of The Georgian Innovative Ecosystem”, “Blockchain Governance & DAO Conversation”, “Georgia As An Emerging Tech Hub At The Crossroads of Europe & Asia”, “NEO Banking”, and “WEB 2 to WEB 3”.


Cardano’s Mel Mc Cann, VP of Engineering, and Jeremy Firster, Global Head of Enterprise at Cardano Foundation, opened the summit by giving presentations entitled: “What Is Cardano?”, and, “How Does Cardano Work?” As the leitmotif of the event was the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Wine Agency of Georgia and the Cardano Foundation to create a traceability solution for wineries located in Bolnisi Appellation, the summit also hosted Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency of Georgia, on the panel “Cardano Projects in Georgia”. In parallel to the tech topics, Irakli Cholobargia united wine lovers at a wine talk to taste special wines from the Bolnisi region and to discuss the importance of our Cardano traceability solution for the wine industry, together with Baia Abuladze, founder of Baia’s Wine and Rikki Brown, American anthropologist researching Georgian winemakers.


A very special representative from the US Embassy, Economic Officer Sabrina Newton, moderated the panel on Government & Regulations.
Jeremy Firster closed the very successful event with the panel “What Is Next? The Future of Blockchain”.
