JD(U) has expelled Vice President Prashant Kishor from the party for indulging in "anti-party activities". This came after Kishor accused Bihar CM and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar of lying after Kumar claimed that Home Minister Amit Shah had asked him to induct Kishor into the party. Kishor had been critical of the JD(U)'s support for CAA.

Madhya Pradesh BJP MLA Narayan Tripathi said the Citizenship (Amendment) Act was creating a "civil war-like situation in every street". "We cannot imagine development in civil war-like situation," Tripathi added.

The Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi on Tuesday sought a report from the returning officer of Rithala constituency over Union Minister Anurag Thakur's speech at an election rally in Delhi. This comes a day after Thakur's video of purportedly encouraging the crowd at a rally to chant "shoot the traitors" surfaced. "EC must take immediate action against him," Congress said.

"If BJP government is formed (in Delhi) on the February 11, then after an hour no one will be seen in Shaheen Bagh," he added.
