Ransomware Attacks in 2021 And How To Prevent Them

In the last two years, #ransomware attacks have drastically increased, and their impact on the organization has become bigger. Bitdefender reports that ransomware attacks increased by 485% in 2020.

On the 5th of July 2021, a ransomware attack was spread globally by infected #Kaseya software. This is the biggest ransomware attack to date. Thousands of organizations were infected in at least 17 countries in Friday's assault. Kaseya’s VSA remote monitoring and management tool was used as an attack vector to inject ransomware into the systems of more than a thousand end-customers of some 30 managed service providers (MSPs) at the start of the USA’s Independence Day weekend. The ransomware attackers demand $70 million in bitcoins.
