How To Remove & Re-Install Rear Back Seat Bottom Cushion Honda Civic 10th Gen 2016-2022 Sedan SI HB

In this video, young DIY mechanic Aiman will show you step-by-step on how to remove and re-install the bottom cushion of the rear back seat on Honda Civic 10th gen. Tenth generation Honda Civic covers model years 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022. The same procedures apply to sedan, SI & hatchback. The process should also be the same or very similar to that of other Honda cars, SUVs, trucks & minivans such as Accord, Insight Hybrid, Clarity EV, Elements, CRV, Pilot & Odyssey.

They are several reasons why you might want to remove the rear seats of your car. Some of the reasons might include cleaning the dirt, installing seat cover, replacing worn out parts, lost items under the seat, fixing wear & tear, re-upholstery, detailing, hauling large cargo, accessing fuel pump filter and sender and more.

Apparently a lot of people have been asking questions on how to remove the bottom cushion on Civic, here are a couple:

"I bought the OEM accessory rear seat covers for my 2020 Si sedan and the back rest portion fits very snugly and correctly, but I've had a little trouble getting the bottom cushion cover slid all the way over the seat and fastened under it without removing the bottom cushion itself. It pulls up most of the way with some effort but it definitely bolted or clipped in in a few spots. Can someone point me to a diagram or walk-thru on where those clips/bolts are so I can remove the bottom cushion completely to slide the seat covers over.

"I purchased the Honda seat cover kit for my rear seats in my 2016 Civic Touring Sedan and wish to install them. I was successful adding the ones that fit the top sections of the seat, the two split sections and the middle armrest. But I cannot get the lower cover installed on the bottom cushion as it fits extremely tight. I figured the best way is to remove the cushion first and install the cover on it and then reinstall it. But I cannot figure out how to remove that lower rear seat cushion. There are two bolts at the rear which I can get to between the lower and upper seat sections, no problem there. The front of the cushion however baffles me. I can lift the front edge barely enough to see there are latches of some type holding the front edge against the floor panel. Each latch has a white plastic piece at the front of it. I've tried pinching them, sliding them forward or rear, but they do not budge. I'm guessing I am lifting the seat cushion with so much pressure to gain access to these, that it prevents them from moving whichever direction they are to move. Has anyone figured out how to remove this lower rear seat cushion?"
