A large fire broke out on Tuesday at a market located in the western part of Tehran, according to state media, with the cause of the blaze yet to be determined.

Mohammad Behnia, the operations commander for Tehran’s emergency services, confirmed that “there have been no injuries reported so far.”

The incident took place in the Jannat Abad neighbourhood, a bustling area filled with shops and stalls, a fire department spokesperson told state television.

Jalal Maleki, a senior fire official, described the blaze as “so widespread that it can be seen from multiple locations across Tehran.”

State TV reported that firefighting teams were promptly dispatched to bring the situation under control.
