Trains at Severn Tunnel Junction, SWML & GNL - 20th September 2022

Hello and welcome to my channel and to my latest video.
It’s been a while since my last video about month ago and I was inactive for a while.
September has certainly been a great sadness to UK & for the world since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, and UK was in a 10 day mourning and with thousands of people travelling up to London to see Queen lying in state, trains and stations is very busy so it wasn’t worth me going all that trouble to do filming.
In September I went to Wales for my break away, most reasons was to stay in Cardiff for 4 days was to film at 3 train stations in South Wales, and of course explore around afterwards.
This video was taken a day after Queen’s State funeral on Tuesday 20th September.
And my first station location is Severn Tunnel Junction, which is situated on South Wales Main Line and Newport - Gloucester Line.
It’s a impressive station, and it’s very quiet.
Lots of passing through trains, and some freights.
Trains you will see are Transport For Wales, GWR Cross Country, Freights DB Class 60, & Class 66 for both DB & Freightliner, and New TFW Train unit 756 on it’s test tun. Unfortunately due to the damaged power line that occurred in Slough area in early hours of the morning the day before, which was all day and it disrupted many train services in and out of London. And engineers had to work overnight to fix it, so there is few GWR Hitachi trains running, some still operated to and from London, and some start and terminate at Reading.
The trains you will see mostly is GWR Class 43 Castle Sets HST, Turbos 166, 170, also GWR 158.
Both view vantage points are excellent, really like the line looking towards London, Bristol line, and to see trains climbing on gradient.
Had a great been at this station, worth a visit.
Will come back here again for sure.
