Direct Attached Storage, Basically it's an external drive bay.
However this case supports multiple Hard Drives and has support for USB Type C so the limiting factor is now the Speed of SATA III. I genuinely got awesome speeds from this. It will support up to 20TB over 2 drives!!

Important to note that when you want to change the storage type you need to press and hold the reset button.
