Welcome to my channel. In this video, I am going to be showing you how to take your measurements to enable you make your basic - bodice, skirt and trouser patterns.
These are the basic measurements I use on myself and friends, and this method has never failed me. Big up's to my sewing school in Lagos, Nigeria - Ginani Sewing School - that thought me the fundamentals.

As in the video, the materials you will need are

1. The person you will be measuring
2. Measuring tape
3. A long string to tie around your waist
4. A pen/pencil to take down your measurements
5. A paper to write down your measurements

The measurements you will be taking are
1. Bust Circumference
2. Under Bust
3. Bust Radius
4. Bust Span
5. Full front Length
6. Bust Point
7. Front Shoulder
8. Back shoulder
9. Across Chest
10. Across Back
11. Center Front Length
12. Nape to Waist
13. Full Back Length
14. Waist Circumference
15. Lower Abdomen
16. Hip Circumference
17. Side Waist to Knee
18. Side Waist to Ankle
19. Side Waist to Floor
20. Center Front to Floor
21. Center Back to Floor
22. Elbow Length
23. Full Sleeve Length
24. Thigh Circumference
25. Knee Circumference
26. Body Rise
