Here is Benjamin Britten and Sviatoslav Richter’s rendition of Schubert piano duets.

M. Rostropovich introduced Richter and Britten in London in 1961. They played together for the first time at Richter’s apartment in Moscow, and there was an immediate rapport between the two musicians. Richter first went to Aldeburgh as a visitor and without any concerts scheduled. In typical Richter’s fashion, he ended up giving one recital with Rostropovich and a second one dedicated to Schubert, where he was joined by Britten. The recordings presented here of the Fantasy in f minor and the Grand Duo in C, were taken at that second recital.
