Visual approaches at Copenhagen • CPH/EKCH

It's rarely sunny in Copenhagen - so when you get two back-to-back days of sunshine, you just have to kill the autopilot and flight director and make the best of them...

Part 1 sees us shoot a nice & tight (but still FDM-compliant) visual for RWY 04L, after being offered the chance to avoid traipsing through most of southern Scandinavia to line up for the opposite RWY 22R that was then in use. Scenery highlights include a positively welcoming Baltic Sea, as well as Sydvestpynten sand bar and the Kongelundsfortet fortress, part of a defensive line built during WW I.

In Part 2 though, the famous Øresund bridge steals the show, followed by the uninhabited Saltholm Island and the tiny Norde Røse lighthouse just off the approach path...
