My 7 year old asked me, What is Sex? It is a common question in the Intermediate Age and one that many parents are afraid to answer or unsure on how to answer effectively. It's a great time to explain what is sex in a medically-accurate way and discuss why this is something that adults do with other adults and not kids. Having this sex talk in the intermediate age can potentially prevent child sexual abuse from happening because you are equipping your child with the knowledge and skills to understand what is considered appropriate and inappropriate behavior.
