Oasis at Knebworth - Noel Gallagher Exclusive Behind the Scenes Interview (1996)

On 12 August 1996, ITN's Nick Glass reported on Oasis' historic two-night gig on the grounds of Knebworth House in Hertfordshire. Cameras captured the mammoth task undertaken by Oasis' stage crew in preparing a concert attended by 125,000 each night, as well as a typically antagonistic and brief press conference held by songwriter Noel Gallagher, frontman Liam Gallagher, guitarist Paul Arthurs (aka Bonehead), bassist Paul McGuigan, and drummer Alan White. They also interviewed fans as they arrived for the first of the two record-breaking gigs - at the time the largest outdoor concerts in UK history. Backstage, ITN spoke to Noel Gallagher himself. With characteristic attitude, Gallagher reflected on the band's rapid and seemingly unstoppable rise, their reputation as the badboys of British rock, where the band were heading next, and the future of British music in general.
