It's also used to make glass, which can break into tiny shards when you drop it, and then you get those little tiny pieces stuck in your feet and its really annoying, like not incredibly super painful but just enough every time you take a step to be like "Ah, goddammit, I need this out of my epidermis now please" and then you try to get it out with tweezers like a splinter but its just too damn small and slid up in just the perfect way to avoid a good gripping.
