Five men in addiction recovery at Casa Vida have filed a lawsuit against local religious advisor George Giorgetti, alleging he threatened to remove them from the facility if they did not perform sexual acts for him.
The accusers also claim Giorgetti threatened to send some of them back to jail.
The lawsuit, filed in April 2025, includes the Recovery Alliance of El Paso, Casa Vida de Salud, Giorgetti, and an Anglican Rite church he is reportedly associated with.
An attorney for the accusers stated that cases against The Holy Catholic Church Anglican Rite, The Diocese of the Holy Trinity and Great Plains, The Right Reverend Leo Joseph Michael, and St. James Anglican Church have been resolved, with the focus now on Casa Vida and Giorgetti.
The Recovery Alliance, which runs Casa Vida, stated in an email, "Mr Georgetti was never employed by us. He was a volunteer and held no credentials in our field."
KFOX14 confirmed with the El Paso District Attorney's Office that Giorgetti worked there as a victim advocate from Nov. 8, 2004, until his termination on Aug. 29, 2014, for unspecified reasons.
A priest at Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi Anglican Church confirmed Giorgetti served with them until June 2024, when he was dismissed after allegations surfaced.
The Catholic Diocese of El Paso stated Giorgetti is not affiliated with the Catholic Church.
Attorney Jonathan Baeza, representing multiple accusers, said, "We want the public to know that on July 25, 2024, the victims reported these allegations to the El Paso Police Department, where the matter remains under active investigation." Giorgetti was previously interviewed by KFOX14 in May 2025 after returning from a trip to the Vatican and in 2020 during visits with COVID-19 patients.
