Changbin Birthday Art '24 | Realism Portrait | Speed Painting | Stray Kids

Another one for my SKZ Fantasy AU, featuring Tiefling Changbin, who I absolutely adore! The more I painted him the more I fell in love with him. I decided to keep the first sketch in this one, as you can see I decided pretty late into the process that I wasn't really happy with how the first one was looking and didn't feel like it connected well with the other paintings in this series so I decided to restart it using a different reference photo. I kept the concept the same, I knew I wanted him surrounded by delicate flowers and the brick wall, these two things symbolise Binnie as a person, imo. His soft delicate side that he's not afraid to show and his tough exterior and the fact that he's such a rock from the rest of the group, someone they lean on when they need too - I'm not sure if people got that from this painting but that's what I'd in mind when coming up with it. I also choose a Tiefling for Binnie because, well, I LOVE Tieflings and I love Changbin 🤭 They are different and unique creatures, misunderstood most of the time as they can look a little intimidating before you get to know them. Something that wasn't shown in this video is me playing around with different horns, going into Baldur's Gate and screenshotting a lot of different types from different angles and then mock drawing them on to my reference photo and photoshopping them on to see which ones suited him better, originally I wanted to do small short horns with jewellery decorating them but decided I much preferred these curved ones with no decorations, since he ended up with a lot of piercings. The jewellery piece on the end of his tale doubles as a blade, as Changbin is one of the protectors in this AU.
