Preventative maintenance is big, so here I am going to showcase some examples and use cases of an UltraViolet Camera (UV). Ultraviolet inspections can also be performed without a shutdown!!! UV is created by corona and high voltage breakdown of the air and surface components. The corona itself also damages insulation, so UV scans can help identify if insulation is failing or if there is surface contamination. Corona can also cause EMF interference with radios and television frequencies. So, if you are having those issues, maybe it is worth while to investigate a solution.

It is important to note, there is more to be said here, and a course would be best to be good at this. Also, I want advocate this technology as it can be valuable but it is important to note that this will not be valuable in systems less than 1000V.
